Kentucky requires 14 contact hours per year for LPNs. Alternatives to the full 14 hours include 7 hours plus a satisfactory employment evaluation, current national certification, qualifying academic study, a preceptorship, publication, a presentation, or a research project. One-time content requirements: 3 hours domestic violence and 1.5 hours pediatric abusive head trauma (within three years of initial licensure); suicide prevention training is also required.
