2h
Public-health-priority subjects (at least 10% of total, i.e. 4 hours)

40 contact hours per 2-year licensure term (17 DCMR 6706.4). Includes 2 hours of LGBTQ cultural competency and at least 10% (4 hours) in public-health-priority subjects -- both remain mandatory during the birth-month renewal transition. No more than 20 hours may be obtained online; live synchronous interactive courses count as in-person CE (Board Policy Statement 24-001). CE is not required for first-time renewal applicants. During the birth-month transition, 50% of the CE requirement is accepted for licensees given less than a 2-year term (LGBTQ and public-health-priority hours still required).
