Colorado created a CME requirement effective 2024-08-07 (HB 24-1153), with compliance and audits beginning 2026-01-01: 30 CME hours in the preceding 24 months (3 CCR 713-1, Rule 1.33; C.R.S. 12-240-130.5), prorated for the first renewal, no carryover. Includes 2 hours per renewal period on substance use disorders/safe prescribing of controlled substances. The April-30 odd-year renewal basis follows board renewal data, not yet read directly from a DORA rule page.
