Code r. 540-X-14-.02; ACSC holders complete 2 Category 1 hours every 2 years in controlled-substance prescribing practices, recognizing abuse/misuse signs, or chronic-pain prescribing; one-time board-designated professional boundaries course for all active physicians (new licensees within 12 months of issue from 2025-01-01; all active licensees by 2025-12-31). Exemptions: residency/fellowship enrollment, retirement waiver, illness/hardship, initial-license year, and non-resident physicians without a significant Alabama practice.
