50 approved CME hours each biennial renewal cycle; attestation with records retained 4 years; one-time 12-hour pain management/end-of-life requirement (or an alternative one-time opioid-dependence course); general internists/family physicians with more than 25% of patients age 65+ must devote 20% of mandatory hours to geriatrics/dementia/older-patient care. Licenses issued on or before 2018-07-01 expire in the birth month; licenses issued after that date expire in the month of issue, so a blanket birth-month deadline does not fit every licensee.
