How compliance is checked
The board may randomly audit up to 25% of licensed optometrists every two years for CE compliance (WAC 246-851-225, as allowed by WAC 246-12-190); CE audits are random and fall in the renewal month. Licensees sign an affidavit of compliance every two years (50 CE hours per two-year period, minimum 10 in-person hours).
