Tennessee Occupational Therapist CE requirements

Renewal: License expires on the last day of the licensee's birth month every two years (birth-year parity). Credits must be earned in the 24 months preceding the renewal month, with CE due by the last day of the month preceding the birth month.

Required categories

Details

24 continued-competence credits in the 24 months preceding the renewal month: at least 12 directly related to delivery of OT services, at least 1 hour on the AOTA Code of Ethics (or ethics-related activities with implications for OT practice), and at least 1 hour on the OT portions of the Tennessee practice act and Chapter 1150-02 (these minimums overlap, not additive). Up to 4 excess credits may carry forward to the next cycle (ethics and law credits may not). A 2-hour board-approved suicide-prevention training is required once every four years and counts toward the 24-credit requirement.
