30 hours of Board-approved CE per two-year cycle under Tenn. Code Ann. 63-5-107 (biennial dental hygienist requirement), with no more than 50% from online or web-based courses. Per the Tennessee Dental Hygienists' Association, the cycle runs January 1 of an odd year through December 31 of the following even year, a minimum of 2 of the 30 hours must be chemical dependency education, and a current CPR card is required at all times.
