Per the official OSBN Continuing Education Requirements for Renewal fact sheet (effective 12-31-2025): as of January 1, 2026, practice hours are no longer required for Oregon nurses; LPN, RN, or APRN renewal requires 1 hour of Oregon pain-management education in the last 36 months and 2 hours of cultural-competency education in the past 48 months. As of January 1, 2028, LPN/RN renewal additionally requires 20 hours of CE within two years, with the pain-management and cultural-competency education still required. The 20-hour total must not be applied before 2028. Renewal is biennial on the licensee's birthday (per the OSBN Sentinel newsletter, the Board's official publication).
