Per 21 NCAC 32S .0216: 50 hours of NCCPA Category I CME every 2 years. A PA with current NCCPA certification is deemed compliant with the 50-hour requirement but NOT exempt from the 2-hour controlled-substance prescribing requirement (unless the CME is part of their certification activity; federally required MATE training also satisfies it). Hours are reported by attestation at annual renewal; documentation retained for audit.
