Maryland Board of Nursing renewal routes (COMAR 10.27.01.13): 1,000 practice hours in the preceding five years, a Board-approved nursing degree or diploma completed in the preceding five years, or 30 continuing-education units in the preceding two years. Licenses renew biennially not later than the 28th day of the licensee's birth month; an odd birth year renews in odd-numbered years, an even birth year in even-numbered years. CE records are retained six years, are subject to audit, and may not be carried over. A one-time training on implicit bias and structural racism applies at the first renewal after April 1, 2026 (per the Board's official training notice).
