48 Board-approved CEUs within the 2-year cycle (COMAR 10.41.03.06), including 3 hours risk management, 3 hours communicable diseases/sanitary procedures, 1 hour jurisprudence, and 1 hour cultural diversity; a current healthcare-provider-level CPR certification is also required at renewal. Licensees attest to completion on the renewal form (mail or electronic) and retain supporting documents 4 years; the Board audits 10% of renewal applications. Note: a 2021 Board renewal notice showed a temporary reduced requirement of 33 hours for the 2021-2023 cycle — the standing rule is 48 hours.
