Illinois RNs need 20 contact hours per biennium, including 1 hour each of sexual harassment prevention and implicit bias awareness, plus 1 hour of cultural competency every six years and conditional dementia-care and mandated-reporter training. Nurses renewing a license for the first time are exempt from the 20-hour requirement. LPN requirements differ.
