Max 2 hours of practice management per biennium. All required courses must be live (in-person or live-interactive) for the optometry profession, except where the Board permits online/distance format. Certified optometrists not registered with the DEA may complete an optional 2-hour prescribing-controlled-substances course for 2 general CE credits — no mandatory DEA-registrant CE requirement was found in official sources. Licensees initially licensed within a biennium are exempt from CE for their first renewal except for a 1-hour HIV/AIDS course. 20 general hours may be earned by completing the Florida Optometry Oral Drug Review Course & Examination.
