A Professional license not renewed within its five-year validity period is deemed inactive for five years and then becomes invalid. An educator may not be employed under an inactive or invalid license — unless the district obtains a DESE waiver — until the license is renewed after completing the required professional development (603 CMR 44.07).Verify with board
