Colorado Veterinary Technician CE category requirements

Colorado does not impose its own CE hour total. State registration renewal requires proof of an active credential with a board-approved credentialing organization (CACVT) (Colorado DPO). CACVT requires 20 CE hours per biennial cycle: at least 10 medical; the remaining 10 may be medical or non-medical (all 20 may be medical; non-medical cannot replace the 10-hour medical requirement). No format limit - all CE may be online, in person, or combined. Hands-on labs/clinical training count hour-for-hour. RACE approval not required, but CE must meet CACVT standards for veterinary technology practice. Presenter credit equals lecture hours (one submission per lecture per cycle; RACE/state/national conference/CACVT-pre-approved programs only). Exhibit halls, posters, equipment training, in-hospital rounds, and staff training do not qualify. No maximum hours; carryover of excess hours not addressed.
